The Watch List


Listening:
1. Springfactory: Peter (from Suburban Kids With Biblical Names) and Lina (from The Big Picture) play poppy Swedish indie pop together, and they have been since 2004. Back in December they release a collection of their EP's through Series Two Records. There were only 300 printed, and only a few remain. Listen to: Get Out of Bed (mp3)
2. Pleasureboaters: Seattle freak-rockers Pleasureboaters are a little scary, a little !Gross!, and totally hardcore. Listen to: State of the Union (mp3)
3. Young Lords: New York's Young Lords are about to make some noise as they complete their debut album, to be released this summer. Their music has that swagger, that attitude of 'yeah we're here, so what of it'. Listen to: Rodeo Song (mp3)
4. This Podcast Will Change Your Life, Episode Four - Waiting for Tipper Gore

Reading:
1. Karl Koweski is the featured poet at Outsider Writers.
2. "Cloud" by Jason Jordan: Sometimes the clouds are our only friends.
3. "Burnt Belly" by Bonnie Crump: I think this is the first story I've ever read with the word meaniehead in it.
4. "Broadsides" by Tim Hall: Little gems from Orange Alert's newest friend.
5. "Fed You From The Blood of My Nose: A Medley Melodic" by Amy King: Amy talks about the connection between music and her poetry.
6. "In the Dream" by Jay Ponteri: New featherproof mini.

Wishing:
1. Blood Pudding Press: A great small press out of Ohio, my latest obsession is Planchette by the founder and editor Juliet Cook. (full review coming soon) $7
2. This Will Go Down on Your Permanent Record by Susannah Felts: Released this past week, this one will make it in my permanent collection. $9.95

Watching:
1. GTA "Wanna Be Myself": A rapping doctor from Oxford, UK, it worth checking out.
2. Afternoon Records Update #1
3. The Pharmacy "Tropical Yeti": This one of my favorite bands right!
